Deaka McClain

Deaka McClain is a lifelong advocate for the disability and domestic violence community. Through public speaking, volunteering, storytelling, poetry, and connecting with people on an individual basis, she uses her platform to continuously make positive changes. Having been born with cerebral palsy,

Ms. McClain knows firsthand the power of positive change and the value of using one’s voice. 


Ms McClain's scholarly endeavors consist of Bachelor of Arts in Journalism CSULB, 2009, Ms. McClain received a MPA in Public Administration, 2016, as well as graduate certificates: Urban Executive Management and Public Sector Employer-Employee Relations and Personal Management. 


Ms. McClain is Co-Founder and Vice President, and Public Relations of Divine Victory Ministries Inc., a non-profit organization that strives to creatively bring awareness, education, and empowerment to the community regarding

Domestic Violence in the urban community. Through this organization, Ms.McClain has co-directed and produced “Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired,” a short documentary about being a survivor of domestic violence. 


Ms. McClain currently sits on several boards and advisory committees that serve the disability, seniors, and Transitional Aged Foster Youth. Currently,

LA County Commission on Disability District 4, Janice Hahn, and Nehemiah Project LA: Board member (currently). 


Ms. McClain found time before and throughout Covid to volunteer at Zoe Christian Fellowship of Whittier, where she attended church. At Zoe, she served in the Media Ministry as an Administrator, Technical Director, and Camera Operator. Ms. McClain enjoys a variety of hobbies such as reading, acting, directing, and hosting her podcast: Tunnel Vision.

Ms. Vickki

Vickki Williams, also known as Ms Vickki has been a lifelong advocate for Domestic Violence survivors throughout the urban community. She is cofounder of Divine Victory Ministries. Ms Vickki used her personal experience in documentary short, "SIck and Tired of Being Sick and Tired" in which she co-directed. Meanwhile, Ms Vickki has become an inspired writer and motivational speaker.



Ms Vickki was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where she had 5 children and 3 grandchildren. While raising her children Ms Vickki returned to school and received an AA in Liberal Arts, Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice, certificate of Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Certified Life Coach and she is currently pursuing Masters in Social Work with a focus in Mental Health. Throughout her college years Ms Vickki gained a lot of experience working with the disabled population. Ms Vickki has had 10+ years of experience in human services. To be specific: populations with mentally and physically challenged individuals, substance abuse as well as homelessness, just to name a few. 


Over the years, Ms Vickki’s passion grew to serve women in the urban community. This led her into working with women who were on parole in drug treatment with a dual diagnosis. Soon after, she began working with women who struggled with chronic mental illness. Ms Vickki's role consisted of individual and group sessions which were psycho- educational groups tailored to assist women and families with gaining better insight on behaviors and symptoms associated with mental illness and preparing clients for discharge planning with an emphasis on community re-entry. 


Ms Vickki is an encourager; she believes in having a support system and practicing self care. Her favorite holidays are Valentine’s day and her birthday. She loves to dance and sing. Ms Vickki believes in visions, dreams, and partnership. For over 30 years, Ms Vickki's children have been her motivation to not give up. One of her goals is to support her mom while in transition to retirement. Most importantly, she is in pursuit of setting up a structured legacy for her children to inherit.
